Born 1929 in Spain, Juvenal Sanso is a leading Filipino painter of Spanish origin. He arrived in the Philippines with his family in 1934 and spent his formative and subsequent years living in the Philippines which has become his home.
Sanso was trained in art in Manila, Rome and Paris. In France, Sanso was fascinated by Brittany, especially its various rock formations and breath-taking views of the Brittany Coast.
Sanso’s distinct artistic style is instantly recognised by avid art collectors. His paintings reflect Sanso’s “poetic surrealism” and fine sensibilities. His works are in eminent collections: Dr & Mrs Renato Abaya, Dr & Mrs Gregorio Sison, Roxanne M. Aquino.
